if you get the 944 workshop manuals, the 6 volume set, do you need to get the 924 manuals too? I am not sure, but from what I gather the 944 manuals are a suplement to the 924

Yes, the 944 factory manuals assume you already have the 924 and 924 Turbo set.

For everyday use, I would buy the Haynes 924 and 944 manuals, the Porsche Parts and Technical Notes book, the technical spec book (if you can find one) and the relevant Porsche service infomation book for your year.

The manuals are good, but they assume you have been to the Porsche training school and are aware how the cars work.
