Engine cuts out at WOT?

Hi everyone, haven't been around for a while but I got a quick question about the 86 951 before I go workout. I can search later too if need be. This weekend I got the car fired up to move. I have something on which drains the battery after 4-5 days, but since I had not unhooked the battery from the last time, it was totally dead. That was about 4 months ago. I charged it and got the car running, washed it and decided to go for a ride. All was good until I went to get on the hiway and put the pedal to the floor. The car immediately cut off and stayed off until I got off the gas. A couple more times to verify there was a problem and there is. The engine shuts down at WOT. Any ideas where to start looking? TIA, gotta run!

Garage
A good place to start is the throttle position switch.

check timed valve for waste gate operation see if any nipples are broke off if car shuts down on full throttle in 3rd gear is good test computer turns off injectors normal. boost is too high because of waste gate pressure leak at timed valve no boost control

Techno, TPS is new. I was trying to hunt down a problem with the shut off at 1500 RPM thing and the TPS was brought up then as a possible reason, so I replaced it then, maybe 2 years ago. Also, AFAIK it's adjusted right, with the click right at the throttle opening. This BTW was not the problem back then. Mine seemed to have been corrosion on the connector to ECM or so it appears

markie, timed valve has also been replaced when I had the manifold off as part of a fix it while your in there deal, not that it can't be broke again. Its always kinda strange to me how a car runs great when parked, but develops a problem while sitting. That said, I will dblchk vacuum lines and such. I'll also check again, but I think it did it in any gear, not just 3rd. Think I'll also have a look at ECM connector again. Thanks guys

Mines not a turbo but I had the same problem once - I switched to my spare ECU and the problem stopped. When it happens it really gets your attention tho...

Does this happen before full boost or during full boost? And when you say the engine shuts down, do you mean no spark at all or just a sudden drop in boost that feels like the engine is shut down? Under full boost, I have had my intercooler pipes pop in and out of the rubber couplers. I just tightened down the fasteners and all was well.

Not saying this is the definite cure, but it's worth looking at.

Ok, took a quick ride last night. Car shuts down in any gear, any RPM when you put the pedal to the floor. It will rev up over 5k no problem, so long as you don't have your foot to the floor. I should get some time this weekend. Gorilla, it shuts down. You actually "fall" forward when you hit that spot...
