924 Carrera GT rear bumper and GTS Rallye parts?
Hi
I am trying to help a fellow 924 Carrera GT owner find an original rear bumper for his car. Before he bought the car it had an accident, so he needs a new rear bumper. He has bought a copy, but if he can find a original part he would be more than pleased! Also I am trying to help a friend who owns a 924 Carrera GTS. This car participated in Rallyes in Italy when the car was new. He now wants to restore the car to that condition, but he misses some parts. The rallye light-pod and the kevlar underbody/engine protection plate is what he misses. If anyone have photos of information of the underbody protection plate that would be a great help to try and make a copy. It is surely hard to find the actual part today... Many, many thanks if someone can help! I have tried all the specialist shops in Europe but it is not easy to find these parts. If anyone have information of other 924 Carrera GT owners, please notify me, maybe they can help me in this search! Yours, Ole Petter |

Hi, many thanks for Your help!
I have searced the parts Van Zweeden has for sale. I didn't find anything there. But I have today sent them an e-mail to hear directly from them ![]() The normal 924, and also the Carrera GT has an thin aluminium bellypan. The Rallye cars have a much tougher, thicker and heavyer underbody protection plate to protect the car and engine from big impacts of rocks and such. Unfortunately my friend and I don't know how this Rallye-underbody-plate looks like... Such a plate was once installed on this GTS, but now it only has the normal thin aluminium plate, I guess it is much like the one on Your normal 924. My son has a 1984 924, so I can check if that is the same as on my Carrera GT. I would think it is! Yours, Ole Petter |

VZ only post about 5% of their inventory online. Those guys have so much Porsche stuff and rare parts, I spend a whole day there when I'm in Europe. GL with your search.

Many thanks 9FF
![]() Of course You are right about this! I sent them an e-mail and I hope! The owner of the GT visited Freisinger Motorsport as they has/or at least had a lot of parts for these cars. They didn't have the parts he needed... I have asked Edmund Harris in England, TRE Motorsport in the USA, and now the Almeras brothers in France if they know anything. Almeras used to Rally several of these cars, so I may get some information of pictures from them. I really hope so! Again, many Thanks! |
