I am currently dismantling my 83 944 engine. Runs perfect, just did a 968 engine upgrade. I need your opinions on what I should ask for the following parts. Crankshaft, cylinder head (with cam) Pistons and rods. Bare block? I will not sell any of these until I send them out to machine shop to make sure they are perfect. The engine has 83000 original miles on it. I have owned this car since 1985. I do not sell anything that I do not know if it is good or not. I have looked around for some price ideas but alot of commercial businesses are asking a ton of money. I don't want to do that, just want to make sure someone is getting a good deal. I do not want to give them away either. That is why I am asking you guys what is a fair price. any help greatly appreciated.

The problem with sending the individual peices out to a machine shop to test for perfection, is that you will spend as much on the tests as the parts are worth to sell.
83 N/A engine parts aren't exactly rare parts, and won't bring big money especially when shipping has to be added. My recomendation is to sell the parts locally on Craigslist or on this site, clearly stating that these came from a running motor with no problems, but there is no warrenty stated or implied. |
