175 hp N/A?

Okay there is guy in my town that has brought in a couple of 944's to sell. The first being a 85.5 with 120 kilometers on it, a 4 to 1 header and an intake. He claims the hp to be 175. Though I am doubtful of that. He wants 10'500 canadian for that one.

The other is a 1989 944S with 140 kilometers on it and he wants 15 000 for it.

So want to you guys think of these prices and hp claims?

175 hp isn't unusual for chipped and modded exhaust car, but for the exhaust to be yielding that much power, it's gonna be sounding like a race car. If the redline is 6900 or 7000 instead of 6500, then it has a chip too. Price is entirely dependant on condition and records and status of the clutch/belts/waterpump/seals.

I know the price on the S is a bit steep. Mine is an 88' with 125,000 Klms - no rips in the leather, no dash cracks, timing belts done at 98,000, engine you can eat off of, basically as close to new as you can get - and I, reluctantly, paid $11,000 Canadian.

I researched the prices for a very long time. A very good N/A should run you around 7-8000 Canadian at the very top. I wouldn't pay anymore than $10,000 for an S - unless it's in great shape. I'd go as high as $15,000 Canadian on a really nice Turbo.

Crippler, you ever heard or know of anyone in NewBrunswick that used to own a 1980 924 turbo (up until about last year)?

This question is funny, but the reason for it is b/c there is a guy selling this car in Quebec, and the previous owner he know sais lives is NB. Maybe if you are a member of any Porsche club you would have this knowledge.
