944 is having a idle problem

Here is whats going on hopefully someone can lead me in the right direction.

I tried to start the car this morning and it just cranked, I waited 1 minute tried again and it fired right up. I pulled it out of the garage let it run 5 minutes shut it off and tried to restart. It did the same thing cranked and cranked, I let it sit 1 minute and it fired right up.

I then drove it for a little while and got some gas. I drove it somewhat hard and the car drove great without any noticeable problems. After the first 2 times I had no further problems getting the car to turn over the first time.

As it was idling in the drive way I noticed something after about 5 minutes it seemed like the idle dropped way low and wanted to stall out but didnt, 10 seconds later it did it again. I got in, revved the motor it was strong with no hesitation problems. 5 minutes later it did it again wanted to stall 10 seconds later did it again.

What could be the issue here ?? I did notice some water condensation blowing out the exhaust. I may try running a water remover with a bottle of Chevron Techron FI cleaner tomorrow to see if it fixes the problem. PLEASE HELP

Wiz...

You could be correct that you got/have some bad gas and the "in tank" moisture remover might help. I would wait on the Techron FI cleaner.

Other causes may be a clogged fuel filter. When did you last change the fuel filter?

If your fuel filter is OK, pull the vacuum lines to the FPR fuel pressure regulator & FPD fuel pressure damper and look real close for any moisture of gas on the FPR or FPD or the vac connection.

If there is no moisture, try to start the car with one injector unplugged. If the car fires up you need to check the FPR & FPD again. One could be bad.

Just ideas.
