Oil pressure probs...

Eeek. I havn't changed my oil in about 2500mi. Now that i have that out of the way... When i'm stopping, or iddling, there is a strange noise coming from what appears to be the head/intake manifold area. Sort of a click, click, click, etc. And, as i'm stopping, the oil pressure is getting low, like, below 1.5 bar. And the check engine light blips on whenever i have to stop fast, or when i corner at speed. This is certainly not normal fare for this car. Last time it did this, i changed the oil and the problem was fixed, hoever that still doesn't explain it. What could the problem be? Hopefully this summer i'll find the time and funds to do the belts/seals/bearings...

What is your oil level at today? 944's seem to have a bit more oil consumption than other cars. In 2500mi I usually need another quart to keep the oil light off.

Hi,

If it was hydraulic lifters making noise, you have bad lifters. Hydraulic lifters are used to eliminate any gaps thus no noise at all.
