Car not starting all of a sudden.

Here is the background. after taking out my rad to fix a leak and putting it back together care won't start. I took off the afm and wires on the cap and checked to make sure the afm is connected and that the wires are in correct order.

here is what I have checked so far:

1) changed dme relay still no start.
2) jumped dme relay and can here pump running and fuel going into fuel lines.
3) changed crank and ref sensor with bmw ones.
4) when I crank there is a spark from coil wire and number one plug.
5) used a noid light and injectors are getting signal when cranked.
6) car seems to crank a bit slow probably battery getting low. I put teh battery on a trickly charger.
7) I checked for loose or cranked vacuum connections.
8) I put timing belt at tdc and checked marks and they line up.
9) I checked and cleaned cap and rotor. I tried a spare cap.

some questions. could afm cause the car not to start?

what is the safest way to check for fuel when engine is cranked. that is the only thing I haven't checked. injectors are getting signal but not sure if fuel is getting to rail when cranked.

my fuel pressure regulator was changed a few years ago.

also i'm not sure if my new bmw crank and ref sensors are operating properly.

the car gets spark and signal to injectors when cranked so I assume they are working?

Check your timing, make sure that the rotor is secured and the Allen set screw is on the money. I had an issue once with a 944 where I had done a head and missed in the reinstall of the rotor-got complacent and missed it. Cost me two days of annoyance

You dont' have to crank the engine to check the fuel delivery. Clarks garage procedure handles that. Glad you did all the stuff in your list. Looks like you covered the obvious things. The one thing that stands out is the ref sensors. Do you have them properly gapped? Are they connected to their respective plug? If they're backwards, this could cause some problems. Did you put all the grounds back in place? There's a couple next to the ref sensors on the top of the Bell Housing that are on the same stud. If the AFM has a bad trace on the wiper you need to verify the continuity of the trace and if it's ok, possibly move the wiper to a different part of the trace by a slight bend on the wiper so it tracks a bit more towards the center (very small change). How long was your car down? I found a mouse had made a nest in my air cleaner:

Some people try to turn back their "odometers." Not me. I want people to know 'why' I look this way. I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved.
