after my car was sitting for 4 months and a life uprooting 3 hours south, I finally get a look at my car's interior and its covered in mildew. This week is going to be a hell of a cleaning process. The spiders, dirt dobbers(on all 4 rotors), and every other creepy crawly critters from the Alabama heat and humidity are about to DIE!!! I dread it to say the least, but my new garage now has a dehumidifier, ac unit, and well sealed garage door to rid it of other life forms from taking gaining acess to my car and tools.

I fixed my shifter, I was just sliding through the linkage above the transition becuase the snap ring that pushes the linkage came out of its groove and slid back. Oh and jacked the entire car up, put it on jack-stands and hoping to paint the rims soon.

Hey, let me know about that oil pressure gauge, mine has never done anything but stick at 5 when the car is running.
It ended up being that the wires on the sender were crossed. I switched them and boom, a working oil pressure gauge. Good luck!

Thumbs up a new header installed and the front muffler deleted

Today I installed a new header and deleted the front muffler.

The old front muffler was rusted through so I took the opportunity and replaced it by a simple 2,5" tube.

It needed some welding to make it fit, but in the end everything works fine and the car sounds awesome now.

The next mod. now, is to install an nice Web Camshaft (254) or sth. like that. Does someone happen to have an nice used Web Camshaft to spare and would like to sell it? I WTB a nice used 254 Camshaft.
Any offers appreciated. Thank you

Took mine to watch the 944 Cup/Coupe qualifying rounds at Calabogie Motorsport Park today. It later told me I should race him.

Replaced rear fuel hoses; idler

I replaced the fuel tank to pump line (thank you Pelican) which is a formed hose with one end larger than the other. Then I removed and used a Dremel cutting wheel to cut off the swaged-on "clamp" to save the fittings of the filter to hard line and the return line to tank. I carefully, & in open air, cut the crimped shell on the fuel line at the pump leading to the filter so as not to have to undo that connection. All rubber hoses were replaced with Gates Barricade fuel injection hose (3/8" feed; 5/16" return) rated at 225psi WP (working pressure). I used fuel injection clamps to put it all back together which will make future hose replacement much easier. Runs great, no leaks. The 26 year old rubber lines (1988 MY built Nov 87) were not leaking but with a 10x magnifier I could just see some cracking.

I replaced the timing belt idler as it was sounding dry and also sounded like one of the ball bearings may be bad (clicking). Really sounded loud when I (carefully) held a mechanics stethoscope on the idler bolt as the engine idled. I will autopsy the idler bearing later.

I'm heading up to a fellow 944 buddy in NH to pick up a good used fuel tank as a potential replacement. I'm tired of the gas smell in the cabin...

That's a nice header...where'd you get it?

I've been considering upgrading the exhaust system on my 924S. Guess now I'm looking for suggestions.

Today I finally sold the pair of old leather powered seats from my 944. Same amount I paid for a Turbo nose. The project is progressing.

It's a MSDS Header --> MSDS - Exhaust Systems
I ordered it from Lindsey Racing. Apart from the now improved revving up, the header saved at least 11lbs compared to the cast-iron exhaust manifold.
