4 lug to 5 lug conversion

what do i need to convert the 4 lug 924, to 5x130 bolt pattern. Some guy on a VW forum was talking about buying adapter/spacers which would make the changed,. seemed expensive. Also it seems like it would take away strength. I can get the parts from a 944, or later 924, but what do i actually need to have so i can look for the parts separate as opposed to buying a separate donor car.. thanks..

I think the cheapest solution is to buy drums and rotors that are drilled for 5 bolt.
If I'm not mistaken, the 4bolt 924 uses the sme drums and rotors as a Beetle.

I used these parts on my '69 Beetle

C13-22-2963-B - FRONT BRAKE DISC ROTOR - 5 X 130MM PORSCHE 911 BOLT PATTERN - FIT ALL W/DISC BRAKES BEETLE/GHIA 47-79 / TYPE-3 66-2/71

C23-501-310 - 5 X 130mm BOLT PATTERN REAR BRAKE DRUM BEETLE / GHIA 68-79 (OVERSIZED)

I would advise against the adapters. They create a large cantilever the hubs likely aren't designed for.

Given jrbennett's advice, looks like you have to decide if you want all discs or not.

Take Care!

Ugh, that Ebay crap is. . .umm. . .crap.

Ideola's setup is cheap for what you get, and is the right way to do it. No brainer really. . .
