pig tail
I have a pig tail at the back of my engine I believe its the speed reference sensor. It is a round 3 prong male piece, but I can not find were it plugs in to. I would put up a picture but computer wont connect to my phone. by the way vehicle is an 87 944S.

Sounds like your O2 sensor.

its not the o2 has two males and one female.

alright found out it is the top dead center sensor which is only used by mechanics, so it is otherwise useless. Now my question is had top end rebuilt put it back together and have no fire every thing is hooked up and some times it back fires.

See if you have the reference sensors switched. Check to make sure your AFM is plugged in. Is your firing order on the distributor correct? If it backfires, you do have spark, just not at the right time.

thanks it was my firing order 1 and 3 were backwards got it started after 7 months.
