20 Miles per Gallon

That's what my 951 is currently doing. Let's say 20% city and 80% highway. At stoplights and on highway i sometimes use quite a lot of throttle to accelerate. My driving behavior is not really agressive, though i sometimes take the car for a real hard drive. Is this mpg normal??

MPG

Mine's somewhat modified. I live in a small town, about 50K population. When I drive it to work and drive it easily around town - which includes little stop and go - I get 22-23 if I really baby it. Highway mileage is about 29-31 with cruise set at 72 in hot weather and no fooling around. Tires are 225/60-16. Any whomping on mustang drivers lowers the mileage. It is my most ecnomical car - fuel wise, that is. It is a '86 951 and weighs 3163 with me in it and a full tank.

I turn in about 33mpg on long trips 250miles or more which I do pretty often in this car.. around town I don't really know prob say 20 ish would be fair... Having fuel pressure problems at the moment so maybe better or worse once I get that wired.

I get around 30+ mpg on the freeway @ 80 mph. I've noticed a significant increase in fuel consumption when I'm "on boost" and around town I'm on boost more often than on the freeway. Watch your boost gage and it will show you when you're running positive manifold pressure.

Still, if you say you're babying it around town, and only 20% of your driving is in town, then your milage sounds a little low. Stay away from the Mustangs for a week or so (a tank full anyway) and see what you get.

It costs extra to "drive it like you stold it"
