magnacore

I did a search here for Magnacore... all four hits seem fine. I'm interested to hear more from people who have had experience with Magnacore. Any and all input (regarding the ignition wires!)would be useful.

what's the choice of champions? make your own!!!

Porsche part numbers (for 944):

928 609 105 03 (the socket end)
944 609 133 00 (the plug end)

and then get generic Accel, or MSD, or NAPA, or Belden wire. that'll be better than any aftermarket wire you can get within twice the price.

Thanks for the idea - I'll have to think about it... are there attachment instructions somewhere for getting the plug / socket ends onto the wire. I'm thinking some fancy non-conductive glue? Let me know if you have a link or ideas.

you crimp the wire into the sockets and plugs. if you want to practice this first... then get a set of junked wires out of a junkyard car, and then take apart the parts of the wires to see how they are connected to each other. you'll see that in the inside of them is a way that you crunch the wires into the sockets.

also, you can just "rebuild" your own using the sockets and plugs you have now, just get new wire. it's the wire itself that wears out, not the ends (rather, RARELY the ends).

All of the MSD spark plug terminals feature "Dual Crimp" terminals. As the name implies, the terminals feature two crimps: One for the sleeve of the wire and another separate crimp to grasp the conductor of the wire.
