Special edition 931
I came across a 1980 924 turbo. The owner believes that it is one of five special edition turbos done by Brumos in 1980 and perhaps even belonged to Peter Gregg. As a skeptic, I am trying to find out if there really was a special edition turbo. vin is 93A0153324.

I doubt that is something you could find through the VIN, but I am not an expert.
This is probably more of a 'back door' thing so any documentation (if any) would be with the manual and original delivery receipt. It is believable though - things like this did happen quite a bit. Does it command a price premium? Rare cosmetics typically get no premium, however if the mechanicals are anything special maybe. Is it this one by chance? (No affiliation) 1980 931 for sale - $2450 Be safe, have a good one! Cheers |

That's it
Yes, that is it. I came across it on craigslist for my daughter's boyfriend. He fell in love w/Jerome's 87 944 so he is getting that. Jerome is a great guy and I have some interest in the 931 mainly because it is a turbo. I am a confirmed 911 fan though and have nice SC and a project 73.5, both Targas, but, I get tempted by others!

Not sure about how many of these exist, but I think the assertion that the car was dressed up by Brumos Porsche in Atlanta (the car dealer, not the racing team) could well be accurate. . .but the Peter Gregg part probably not.
I looked at an ad for this car a few years back on a collector website, and it looks like a fun one to own.
