OT:toyota

my friends toyota tercel (i know i know, its not even a car) but either way it wont start. Wont even turn over, its not the battery. He just had his fuel tank taken out and repaired it was leaking and the fuel pump was changed i dont know if that could have anything to do with it. I didn't think it was the pump or anything because it doesn't turn over, if there is no fuel it will do SOMETHING right?cuz of the starter?

what else could it be other than the starter?and the ignition relay

I don´t know anything about Toyota.
Also I never ear about the tercel
Is fuel injection ?
Try the crank position sensor.

The best that your friend can do is to go with a qualified mechanic.
Good luck !
Regards

Fuel pump, turn the switch on and if you can ear the pump there is not the pump, also you can check the rail pressure.

What year???? Is the starter hooked up right?Any blown fuses? Can u hear the pump run with the key in the on position?Does it click when u try to start??? If it is just ckicking then it's the starter, if not clicking then get a test light and make sure your getting power to the little wire when you try to start.
Good luck

I've got a 91 Tercel, it's never given me a single problem. They can be a lot of fun once you get to know them, even if they are amoung the nations cheapest cars ;-)

Does it make any sound at all? If the engine doesn't even move, probably the best thing to do is follow the electric back from the battery and maybe test to see if the starter is getting any juice.

Other than the simple things, I can't really tell you much else. Hopefully this helps.

Nick
