STRANGE rear wiper functioning...
 

HAHA!!

This is stupid... sometimes my rear wiper just starts doing strange things. It functions fine and sometimes it just goes a small bit down, but stops and will then go back again. Sometimes, the wiper doesn't even go down, but just pops out to the other side.. So, there you are with a Porsche that has a nice rear wiper hanging left of the car...

What the F is going on... i will check my motor etc SOON!

Well, i'll tear up my little rear window wiper motor box (MY WORD!) and see what's cooking in there...

Before you tear up the plastic box housing the motor I have quick fix for you.

My rear wiper did the same thing and I looked at the motor but it worked fine.

Actually all you have to do is pop up the cover at the pivot(base of the wiper arm) then there is a bolt that sometimes works its way loose or gets stripped.

All you have to do is tighten that bolt and viola your wiper is fixed.

Make sure your wiper is set at the position you want. Start at by hitting the switch and turning it off again then move the wiper where you want it manually before you tighten the nut down.

Mine does this too. I originally thought that the bolt just needed to be tightened also, but it turned out that the threads inside the wiper arm were stripped smooth. I now need a new arm, but just haven't gotten around to it.

If anyone has this problem, make sure you don't let it continue for too long as the same might happen.

I have the same problems. Threads worn, but it seems not only the arm itself wore out but the pin from the motor doesn't seem to good either. One disadvantage... the pin only comes as motor :) The good old P-guys know how to build a little fortune with spare parts ;)

Not exactly. You can remove the pin from a completely useless motor. I did this once, and it was no problem (the original pin was stripped from a loose arm - which in turn stripped it as well.)

You might want to try calling a junk yard or Partsheaven and ask if they have an old non-working motor.
