87 944S exhaust system to 86 944NA

Does anyone know if a 1987 944S exhaust system from the end of the exhaust header back, will fit a 1986 944 NA body?

They are different diameters/lengths. They are close, but the 944S system is slightly longer and slightly wider (we are talking milimeters here). I tried to put a 944 system on my 944S, and it appeared to bolt up fine, but it really didn't...

I know this is a really old thread but I'm looking to do what you did Legion. I have an S that needs a new exhaust (catalyctic is rusted and rattles) and was going to swap with the one from my NA that's just sitting there. But this won't work you say? What happens when you mount it, you said it apppeared to fit but really didn't?

I have a cat-back from an 86 NA with no rust but it weighs a ton so the shipping costs might be breathtaking. I wanted 195 for it but I am open to offers. Or, maine's not far, drive up here and we can install it. Come up for Grand Prix or Jazz fest (if the stinking' students take a powder).

Thanks Guru944, but the ad says "Despite the photos shown, this auction is for the MUFFLER SECTION ONLY", I need the catalyctic part.

Also, would the S2 fit my S though? I have an NA with a good exhaust that I was planning on swapping with, but Legion here says it appeared to bolt up fine, but didn't.

Can I install an NA exhaust to the S and it will work good?
