no more printing out reference material for me!
I dont know how much you guys use your computers and smart phones as much as i do when actually working on my car. I ues an extension for Google Chrome web browser called Chrome to Phone. When Im inside my house and pull a web page that has info i need to use out in the garage, all i have to do is click on an icon up in my toolbar and it automatically opens up the same webpage on my smart phone. I just find it easier to search all the reference materials inside the house then have them automatically ready to go on my phone when i get to the garage. just thought someone might find this useful instead of having to print out a bunch of pages or going in and out of the house to the computer.

I have a dumb phone and factory shop manuals.
But instead of being careful to not get the paper manuals grimey, I usually just open up the toolbox and wing it, and am amazed if the car actually starts and runs after I've dinked around under the hood. |
I use my old disconnected iPhone. Take a picture of the factory manual page and use it where I am working.

maybe I'm lucky or for sure different but I have a photographic memory. So if I read or see something I want to remember, it stays in my head step by step.

i have a separate system with a 27" monitor in the garage, and the full sets of shop manuals for both the 944 and 968

My son uses his iPhone; I like something I can actually see, so I'll continue to use my printer.
