Clutch Selection
So looks like I have a leaking rear main seal. So off comes the flywheel and everything attached which probably means a new clutch.
1987 951 Turbo 68,000 Miles. So I wanted to know what clutches others have put on. I should tell you that I would like to modify this engine over the winter and get about 340-3350 out of it. So will a stock clutch be able to handle that much horsepower. I would hate to make those mods and not have the clutch stand up to the torque. Any input is appreciated.

You oughta talk to Nize. He really likes 930 clutches. You can find him over in the 951 forum.

I have a kevlar racing clutch from Blaszak Precision Motorsports in Ontario I believe. He said when he built my engine that the clutch is so strong it will outlast the engine. I am personally very happy with it and all the work he does, the engine is so much smoother and rev happy than stock!

Forget the name but there is a company that will reface your 951 clutch with Kevlar plates. Read a post a while back and they did good work for a poster here and the cost is a fraction of a new one. Think they are based in Texas, maybe someone will chirp in with the name.
