Boston Spring 2012 Meet up / Timing Belt Party

Folks -

We had a successful timing belt party last year, and I understand there was a good team ride another weekend. Would anyone be interested in a 2012 meetup?

Dean has volunteered to set a route for a ride. I'm thinking the last weekend of March. I don't need any belt work done, but if others are interested, we could do that as well.

I'm located in Allston MA, and for the day could house 3-4 of us in the driveway
Let me know and if I get good feedback I will set something up! Alternatively, if there's another party / venue, please let me know.

I'm in Lexington. My car probably won't be out of the paint shop until sometime in early April though.

I'm on the north shore and would certainly join the party. I was just frowning at my timing belt earlier today.

Glad to see the budding interest. Sounds like we might have 2-3 contenders for work. I'm sure there are some old-hands out there who'll join in as well. Keep the interest coming, and in 1-2 weeks we'll set the date based on attendance.

I'm in Lexington, my 944 is probably due for belt replacement. At least I'd like to
check the tension and etc.

Late March or early April would be good.

I'm going to propose we do this in two weeks - how would that suit everyone? Saturday March 31, 9am onwards, in Allston MA at my house.

If its ok, I may show up to meet everyone and lend a helping hand where needed.

Unfortunatley I won't be in my Porsche because I need to swap the belts before driving it. The car has been on the backburner for a few years and needs a timing belt change due to age not mileage, and I don't want to take any risks.

Looks like we're 3-4 so far, but only 1 944 on the operating table. Which means we've got room to do at least 1 more person's belts for the day.

Thanks again for organizing the belt party. Now I have new belts on my 944 so I don't have to worry about it for a while. The old belts were way beyond the specified life span. Many thanks to Jim and Mike also for their expert help.
Thanks for the delicious cookies too.

It was great fun and learned so much from you guys. Hope we'll do it again sometime.
