should I strip cookie cutters paint off and leave them silver?

They are going to be my winter wheels from now on and I'm gonna re-finish them when I get them off- should I just take off the black paint and re-seal them leaving them silver?

This is what they look like stripped:

You will have to put some kind of a clear coat if you plan to keep them like that.

What color is your car?

I painted mine to match my car.

Man, I want to strip mine! How did you do it. Could a total moran pull it off? That has to be a yes if I'm to be successful.
Let us know what you decide and post pics of the rims on the car!

Hey stray I saw the page about how you did that(97XRAY- just do a search) and I thought it looked good. I have a red car and wouldn't want to match it... I think I'm gonna just strip it and put a clear coat over it.

Well you did ask...
I have the cookie cutter wheels and IMHO I like the stock black centers.

Thanks guys.

97XRAY, your right, red on red wouldn't look to good. If I were you, I would strip them down and see if you like them. If you don't, then you can just paint the centers black.
