944 turbo engine rebuild 1100 rpm idle

i rebuilded the engine (everything but pistons and valves... they were in perfect state) added an msg ignition system
my rpm is always at 1100 at idle... i tried the bolt to adjust it and i can only drop it to 1000 and if i push the gaz a bit too much the car stall when i go back to idle.
what could it be... what can i do?
vacuum is at 20, all hoses have been changed for silicon hoses.

thx guys

Go to clarks-garage.com and read up on setting idle. There is more to it than just the screw.

I had the same thing when I put a new engine in my 951 and it really drove me nuts - till I figured out (by accident) that the cruise control cable was adjusted wrong.

If you have cruise control, you might check it. I spent hours and hours screwing with the throttle body adjustment, vacuum lines and the throttle return spring and a whole bunch of other stupid stuff before I figured it out.

Mine, the cruise worked fine. It was just adjusted too tight (or short), so it raised the idle. To see if that's it, just loosen the adjustment on the cruise control cable (make it longer).

Is your AFM plugged in correctly? Make sure that is tight.
