Blinker Issue
So I am having a blinker issue which is important because I can't get the car street legal until it is fixed.
1983 944 N/A All of the blinkers work properly and blink properly except for the front left. This blinker blinks bright which the headlights on but when they are not it blinks but so low to where you can't see it. It is only this blinker so I know it is not the fuse. I replaced the bulb and that is not it. If you have any guidance for me that would be awesome. Mahalo from Hawaii! |
Check and clean the ground for that light

Ill check the ground and let you know.

new blinker fluid?
just kidding! i would check the ground but also the wiring at the blinker. pull the whole assembly out and see if someone has been splicing stuff or if there are breaks in the insulation, etc. |
sanded the ground and reconnected them in a different order just to see if any effect, and none once so ever. So now I am in the situation of assuming its wire corrosion, need some advice on how to rewire this, or advice on another possible fix. It blinks dim but all the other blinkers work so I am assuming it is not a fuse or wire relay issue. Don't all the wire relays and fuses go to ALL the blinkers? Need advice ASAP!

does it still come on bright with the headlights on?
what about with the headlight buckets up, but the headlights off? |

well, it isn't wire corrosion.
replace ALL your fuses. pull the signal switch assembly and clean ALL the contacts. if you still don't have joy, work your way backwards: connect the power source directly to the positive terminal for the blinker. if it works, keep moving backwards until you find where the connection gets hinky. |
