This doesn't seem too unreasonable does it??
I have listed my 944 for sale as I have my 951 and my Range Rover so I could really use the garage space so I decided (reluctantly) to put my 944 up for sale and see what happens.
I have had a few emails and several stupid trade offers and people who low ball the hell out of you. I am pretty firm on the price. I have put a ton of money into it and all within 1k miles as well. I hate the whole whats it worth debate. As it's only worth what someone is willing to pay however is my price fair? I think so. If anyone is interested let me know :D Here is my add http://appleton.craigslist.org/cto/3070051065.html |
Jeeze, for a car with 105K plus a parts car, that seems like a great price. You have a nice looking car.
For comparison, here are the Seattle area 944's for sale - a bunch of them right now. At least for the Seattle area, you're right in the ballpark, maybe even low in that the parts car comes with it. seattle cars & trucks - by dealer classifieds "944" - craigslist |
Woah dude, don't sell it for any less. Those rims are slick, the engine bay looks beautiful, and anyone who'll treat this car the way it should be treated will realize it's a steal for such a well maintained/looked after example.
You shouldn't have to take any less than $3500, for any reason. If you're willing to try selling on Fleebay, you could probably get more for it there because it's so much easier to search out of your zip code, and I'm sure more than a few buyers would be willing to drive a bit for the right 944. Edit: Also, this one apparently cost $2800, for reference: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-924-944-968-technical-forum/679430-my-944-so-far.html |
i would'nt take a pennie less..nice ride..http://forums.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/wat6.gif

Absolutely a fair price. Under the money, IMHO.
If I still lived in Sheboygan, I would be tempted to snap that up! Jeff |
I sold mine for $4,300 and mine was pretty similar condition to yours. Not a bad price at all.
|
Yeah, that's about the right price, or even a little low. I think you are not asking enough, it's in great shape.
|
Yeah. Whatever your asking price people will always offer you less. I would raise it some and give yourself some room to "deal"
|
thanks everyone for the nice words about my 944. Well I've raised the price! What the hell why not I don't have to sell it so I won't give it away.

I think it is very well maintained. I've put 4k into it this spring alone! Where do you stop with these thing!
|
Did you raise the price to $3500? If so, what were you asking in the first place? List at $4500and let them "lowball" you to your asking price of $3500.
Nice looking ccar. |

I would have listed it at $3995.99 and stuck to my guns - As our 944's are not getting more plentiful and just now starting to go up in prices - In that condition and with the other parts car absolutely...
|
Price raised and I''l be firm on it now! Hard to find one with all the maintenance done and up to date. Not to mention when I got it it had brown and white interior. I bought a new black interior and swapped it over. Not a new car but close!
|
Good looking car. Mine's in similar shape at similar mileage (just turned 109k) and I wouldn't take a nickel less than 5k for her... if I were selling... which I'm not...
|
Mine sold for a tad under $4k, it had roughly 50k miles. All major maintenance was done recently and it had an MSD 6A and Weltmeister chip. Being an 84 the AFM and DME was newer too. It did not have any electrical or mechanical issues.

Ad still active, yes? How have the prospective buyers been? Porsche-knowledeable? Younger, older? Uninformed? Joy riders? Racers? thanks and good luck .. nice car. |
Yes the ad is still active not really going to sell it any more though and cant be bothered to find the email to delete the ad.
I have had mostly idiots look at it, a kid who got pissed because I wouldn't let him drive it on his own. Then some goofy old guy who thought it was pretty. I don't have to sell it, so it sounds weird but I won't sell it to just anyone. The car has to go to and enthusiast who know what it is and appreciates it not some kids trying to impress his friends cause he has a Porsche. |

While none of would deny an earnest newbie-Porsche prospect, none of us would want to see another neglected or crashed 944. |
