OT computer help please
Why does my new dell computer with windows xp not have powerpoint? Is it just that I can't find it or does it really not have it? Thanks

I'm guessing you need to purchase the software??? It's generally not standard since it's a very big seller from it's use in corporate america. AOL advertises a package deal with it and like 6 other business CD's for 50 bucks.

I think Bob's right, my boss just bought a dell desktop with xp and it did not include powerpoint. According to Microsoft powerpoint is included with all office xp versions (Pro, Standard, and Developer) I think this is a Dell thing????http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/spankA.gif

If your P.C. shipped with Office XP Professional it would have Powerpoint included. If you got Office XP Small Business, then it would have all office apps except for Powerpoint. You can always just install Powerpoint from older Microsoft office software (ie. 97, 2000) if you have it handy. Just remember to install Powerpoint to a different directory than where XP is installed. Hope this helps.

Powerpoint comes with Microsoft "Office" that is a software package (usually bundled with Word, Excel, PowerPoint) that is not necessarily included with the operating system (Windows XP, 2000, etc.)
I believe the CD's AOL offers for $50 are tutorials and NOT the actual software aplication(s) Hope that helps. Scott |
I didn't have Powerpoint on my new HP computer (with XP). A friend e-mailed me the program just yesterday.
Do you want it? 944S Boyeee |
