GreenWater shifter kit

I just installed the shift kit from board member GreenWater, also does the hatch pins kit, what a huge difference! Took 15 minutes to install and takes care of all worn parts in the shifter itself. I had originally replaced the worn shifter with another OEM one but the connecting shaft had such bad wear in it that there was a ton of play.

Don't feel bad for never hearing about him. He just set up the site a few months ago. Started with just the Delrin hatch seats, as far as I know.

Yep there was quite a write up about the development of the Delrin Hatch Seats. I ordered a set of the hatch seats from him and they work perfect, no more rattle/squeaks.

Just another guy out there finding remidies for the woes of out 944's

Mine came last week. I've been traveling/working nonstop but SHOULD have time to install this weekend.

Looking forward to some improved shifting!

Hey, sorry for not posting on here for awhile, but I have been very busy with making parts. Thanks for the shout out, it is greatly appreciated.

The Testimonials are just for fun. They are suppose to be funny and obviously not related to 944s. I love how they have become a topic of conversation on this thread, that is awesome.

So yeah, I still have shifters available if anyone wants one. It does make a huge difference and will get rid of about 99% of the play in the shifter.

My website and parts building endeavor is fairly new. I started the website January 1st.(thanks to all the people that supported me with the hatch pin seats, on pelican parts forum.)

Wow, I dig it. Please please PLEASE do the sequential shift prototype! And let me know ASAP when you have the short shift ready to ship because I've been looking for a good one.

Awesome testimonials, too.

Brozoar,

Thanks! I was working on a sequential shift setup awhile ago but I have been to busy to keep going with is. It seems very possible to me, it is just a matter of how fast the car will actually shift.(and the cost of the unit) Someday I will make a prototype to see if I can get it working.

Short shifter might be a little while longer before I order them from the machine shop. It will be nicer then the 3d picture that I have on my site. I have redesigned one of the arms and will look nicer.

I just bought his shifter kit and a shifter boot 20 minutes ago. Excited! I'll have to try out the hatch seal and hatch pins in a while.

Is getting the shifter cap installed onto the shift boot really that difficult?

Gawernator,

No it really isn't super hard to do but it can be time consuming and frustrating. It normally takes me about 2 or 3 tries to get the cap on without wrinkles.(that I am happy with) The key is not being in a hurry, and also making sure that there is not too much material at the top of the shifter.

Krystar - Thanks, I just mailed it out.

Installed the shifter and hatch pin kit this past weekend. Easy to do with Greenwater's excellent instructions on his web site. Replaced my shifter once before with the oem version. This one is way better. Shifter is really tight now. It is almost like I'm driving a different car.

The only problem with both products is that the inside of my 944 is so quiet now, that I am hearing new noises that I didn't know existed before!

Thanks for some great products Kyle.
