kill switch

my car is stored at my brother's house so i call him and ask him to look in the glovebox to see what paper work the P.O left in there..he call's back and said none but there is a key'ed switch mounted to the inside of the glovebox..and said it looked old as hell..has anyone came across this befor..???

I thought the alarm key hole was on the left rear quarter panel just behind the driver door? Maybe it's for an aftermarket alarm? What year is your car? On my late style 944 there is a switch in the glove box. According to the owners manual it's a "valet switch" that prevents the valet parking person from opening your rear hatch along with a few other things.

my car has no power any thing..it's like an ignition switch..it has an off ,on and start..???..and it's a small funky key ..

the P.O email'ed me back and said the car will not start with out the key in that switch and in the on ..i've never seen any thing like befor ever...lol..talking about old school...well the car is a 77..

What he did was put an ignition cutout in it. Made it where it doesnt have ignition unless it was on, so therefore no one could steal the car.

I'd leave it just as an anti theft device.

that's what it is... he said it was there when he got it..and the key is stamped with a name and 1977..was it a dealer add on...???
