1985 1/5 is having a backfire issue.
Ok, calling all 944 Guru's- I just picked up a beautiful, garage kept, 1985 1/2. Everything on this car works! However, when I turn it off, more times than not, I get a backfire. The car sat for 8 years under a cover in a garage, but it started right up with a new battery. Everything seems to be connected. Any ideas? Thank you for your help!

I did post this, but i got advise on replacing belts, not chasing down the problem. When I replace the timing belt I will make sure its set to the correct ime. but I figured there could be some other reasons.
