Picture of AC low side on 87 turbo
I read the factory shop manual and countless threads on the AC topic but could not find a picture of the low side port on the 87+ cars. FSM has a note that says its on the compressor. How do I get to it, from under the car? Can someone please post a picture or step by step? I could not find a pic anywhere. Thank you. Mine is an 87 Turbo.

I don't have a pic but if you look at the two lines that go to the AC compressor there will be a charging port coming off of one of them close to where it meets the compressor. It should have a black cap on it if it's never been converted or a black or blue cap. It might have no cap at all.

And if you have 2 charging ports near the left strut tower then the larger diameter pipe is your low side connection.

Thank you Jrboulder. I only saw one port (high side) near the strut tower but I will double check. Thank you for the pictures.
As for getting to (36), do I jack up the car and go from under? I figure I can't really disconnect the intake and associated hoses because the car has to be running with AC on for the charge. Regards |

It's really easy to access from the bottom. It would help to get it on jack stands the first time and use a flash light to find it. I never charged with it on jackstands. The low side port points down so you will need to runn your line from the bottom anyways.

I will try to get to it later this evening. It's 110 degrees outside right now ... bummer
