944 S2 Suspension Question

Orig 49k, right front wheel has a slight top-bottom play noticeable at the top of the assembly. Still rides solid at all speeds, however. Is the fix new strut assemblies (lh & rh....big $$)? Or is this something as simple as a mount or snubber?

This car has the Koni M474 option.

I don't know the right answer, but you might as well try the cheap things first right? Tighten everything you can see, then bushings, mounts, etc, if all else fails you can always get a new strut then everything would be new. In all honesty, if the strut turns out bad I would probably replace everything in there anyway so I don't have to do it again later.

Just check that the wheel bearing needs to be re-tightened. Top mount is normally solid.

Thanks Makis,.....are loose wheel bearings normal in our cars? I don't hear the typical "humm", and it only has 49k on it....?

Mine needed tightening and was not making any "humm". So is easy to check for play in the bearing and also they are easy to tighten. 49K is not much but over 20 years may cause that. Also possible that they need repacking with greese if they gone dry.
