Hi all,

Thanks

lol - yup - this one was installed by somebody who does them all the time too, so i tend to think the installation was not the problem. horrible pedal feel. i was afraid to push the car very hard, as i had zero confidence in the brakes.

You could go with the Wildwood MC (or dual MC?) setup some V8 guys use. Not sure if that's any better though

I deleted my booster and all of the stock pedals in favor of a floor mounted pedal box.

I did so to make room for a v engine. But it has also had the effect of moving my seating position rearward which has made me at 5'8" fit in the car much better.

You can delete it and use a dual MC setup with a balance bar, tandem MC, hydroboost or and electric boosted system.

Why do you want to delete it? If for space you could try a 924 booster which is smaller diameter. The master cylinder off a Mazda Millenia is half the length of the 944 one but has almost the same bore/stroke. It will need an adapter to attach to the booster though.

Just an FYI for anyone swapping brake boosters for whatever reason. The pre 88 cars had a 3.0:1 assistance from the booster, the 88+ had a 3.4:1 (more) assistance. Ask me how I found out

What about a remote vacuum booster? I know the late A-H 3000 had these and I'm sure there are others.

A remote booster would work but where would you put it on a street car. On a track car maybe in the passenger footwell. Lot of work though, you have to custom make brake hardlines from the engine bay to wherever you install it. Lots of cars have them, in older Alfas that is all they used.
