door wiring loom
Can anybody assist with a description of what the wiring loom in a 1984 944 doors consist of, I have identified the electric mirror, speaker wires, electric door lock, electric window, but I appear to have extra and no idea what they are for, also a long short, is there any where I can find the wire colour ID for each wire to ensure accuracy, or is it trial and error

If you could provide a list of what you have identified (colours, etc), and perhaps some photos of those and the 'extra' wires you have found. That will help us identify them for you.
Basically, the best way to get a wire ID is to get hold of a copy of the actual wiring diagram. Please note that some are written up in German, so the colour names appear unusual. However, there are lots of topics in the forum that cover the wiring colours and translations. Do a search - always helps. Otherwise, get hold of a Haynes manual, they tend to have current flow diagrams. I dont have one so I can only assume the 944 one is the same? Hope this helps...
