Oil Light Flashing
I apologize if this is common knowledge to those more experienced with these cars but the search function didn't help me any.
Today I changed the oil / filter in my '87 924s. Oil was full according to the stick, pressure gauge was showing 5 but the light was flashing. I double checked everything for leaks or other signs of trouble but nothing looked amiss. Since the dipstick was showing full and pressure was showing normal I drove to the gas station about 3 miles away, light flashing all the way there. After I filled up with gas and started the car, no light! On a side note, I've adjusted the links for the rear hatch all the way out with no luck. The key moves quite a bit before they are contacted, is there any way to adjust the key mechanism so it engages earlier?

I don't know much about the oil light, except that my 924 does something similar. I did have good luck just WD-40'ing all of the mechanisms in the rear hatch release, and that make opening it way easier. GLWR.

I went through the same thing. There is a blue and white wire that runs from the oil level sensor, to a relay under the dash. I tried everything to get the light to stop flashing. Years later, I pulled my engine wiring harness, only to find it had been cut open from rubbing against the engine for the past 25 years. This might not be your problem, but it might be worth checking.

I took the mechanisms apart, cleaned them and oiled them real good. I can actually push the rods with my fingers at the mechanism end and release the hatch, just not with the key or switch!

Huh I'm not really sure. I'll take mine back apart tomorrow and see if I can supply any more info!
