O2 sensor port?

Hi all,

On the attached picture, is this the port my O2 sensor should be plugged into?

A) If not, where can I find it?

B) If yes, then where might it be (I understand if a generic sensor is used it might be spliced in elsewhere?)?

Thanks in advance,

That is the sensor plug. I used a direct fit sensor. It would be best to cut the plug off the
old sensor and connect the universal fit wires to it. I don't have an answer for other places
to connect the universal fit sensor.

So where might my O2 sensor wire go to? I have a pretty severe back injury which is preventing me from getting under the car at the moment, but if there is nothing plugged into that port than where else could the O2 sensor wires go?

Could the O2 sensor just be unplugged?

No matter what shouldn't the O2 sensor wind up plugged into this port?

I'm confused.

Yes and yes.

That is a test port used by the Porsche garage test equipment, this is the output of the TDC sensor which is the third sensor on the bell housing. There is no connection to this connector for normal operation

The plug in the photo shown is for connecting the oxygen sensor. Notice it's near the back center of the engine and close to the intake manifold.

The test port is near the fender on the driver side. A photo of the diagnostic plug is shown below not on my car but one I found in a search.

The arrow pointing to the plug looks like the TDC sensor which is not used as kfray mentioned. It is a 3-pin plug very similar to the O2 sensor. Usually this plug should be connected to the rear engine hoist ring, but with a 25 year old car it can end up anywhere.

Its hard to tell from your picture due to the missing speed / reference sensor bracket but it looks like the O2 sensor connector is to the left of the black zip tie, next to the brown wire bundle.

The photo isn't mine. I'm here trying to help answer the OP's questions.
On his other thread I posted a photo of my sensor plug. They are both in
same general area.

Yes that is where it is, thanks TD! Any idea of the part number for the speed/reference sensor bracket?
