968 clock in a 944

Ran across a 1993 968 clock/cubby to install in our 944 but need some assistance on power requirements for the back.

Is there a wiring diagram available for these?

Clock part # is 944-641 148 00

Thanks in advance!

I've always been puzzled why they went back to an analog clock and and got rid of the 944 clock/lap timer.

I'm always puzzled why anyone would want a clock in their cars these days. I have a watch and ones on the iPhone, car radio and the one in the car and I'm still late!

The wiring diagram is on the factory manuals, looks like the 968 clock has power, light power and ground. I would think power from battery (always on), light power from light switch (position 1-side lights on), ground to......well ground. I've not traced it on the diagram though.

i rarely wear a watch, and nearly refuse to use a cell phone.

but, i have a clock on the deck

9FF has the wiring right. if you don't already have the wiring in the car, you'll have to find those 3 sources and connect them up. you can tap any dash light wire (like the one that lights up the heater controls) for the light in the clock and it will dim at the same time as the rest.

You can pull power from your radio harness as it has everything you need.

Thanks for the quick responses... I'll go the radio route for the power taps. By the way, I haven't worn a watch for 20 years... Putting in this 968 clock unit was actually less cost than rebuilding the digital backlight of the clock in the dash.

The dash has a backlight? Wow, mine is always dark grey but has full functionality otherwise. Moot point though, since I wear a watch, have an iPhone and the radio clock.

You just described my dash clock as well.

Stopping tomorrow for the red orange florescent pant to repaint the clock hands on this 968 clock, Found the right color listed on a corvette BBS (Rustonium 3101).
