Defroster broken/on its way out
I recently was able to get my rear hatch window tinted (finally). Had some altercations with the shop, timing issues and then once down to business ran into issue with what a PO did. They had ended up scraping between the lines (the PO) and removing partial amounts of tint, leaving random ugly chunks on and leaving it on the defroster lines. However they had also sprayed the removal chemical but not removed the tint. So it baked in and made the tint almost impossible to remove. My tint shop (Formula 1 lifetime warranty) spent hours and hours getting nowhere fast with little glitter sized pieces coming off. Ended up scraping it off along the defroster lines and elsewhere. I hear that could probably have ruined the defroster or at least weakened it, and they explained that before asking me to scrape. After looking closely I noticed this connection tab halfway on http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1348117402.jpg
Even with that tab barely connected, earlier this year my defroster was working pretty well getting rid of fog and ice. I now can garage my car so haven't had that as an issue. One, should I bother getting that product to reconnect the tab, or is my defroster probably toast? I saw a product that helps repair defroster lines but I'm not sure if it would work here, and the tint is already over the lines anyways. So is there any chance my defroster works, could the lines be deep inside the glass maybe? SmileWavy Thank goodness I don't live in Alaska/Michigan/Minnesota/New England
