Headlight Motor wiring orientation

I need to find out the orientation of the plug going into the headlight motor for a 84-944. It seems the plug has an alignment lug but the motor side does not and can be inserted both ways. (the wrong way burns up the dash switch). The color of the top most wire- red/blue or gray- is what I need.

If the plug doesn't want to stay on wrap a zip tie around the plug head. I've seen it done on several cars.
