still chasing dme relay socket peoblems

ive been driving my 944 with a jumper wire between the ignition relay and pin 86 on the dme socket. this is what ive done

tested continuity between ignition switch and the wire where it plugs into bottom of fuse box, there is continuity

tested voltage with ignition switched on to that same wire where it plugs into bottom of fuse box, 12 volts

tested continuity between where that wire plugs into. bottom of fuse box and pin 86 on the dme relay socket, no continuity

applied 12 volts to bottom of fuse box where it plugs in and tested voltage at pin 86, it will read 5 volts and slowly starts climbing to around 8

completely dissassembled fuse box and cleaned all the bus bars and layers

problem persists

so do i need a new fuse box?? either there must be a crack in one of the layers of plastic that is not visible, or something, it appears that bus bar is grounding or shorting somewhere

could it be grounding somewhere else, can anyone tell from the wiring diagram?? all i can tell is that same wire appears to supply 12 volts to the ignition coil.

Did you crimp up the contacts so that the blades of the relay make good contact with the copper tabs in the fuse box?

I have had is where pushing a thicker blade into the fuse panel will plastically deform the Cu tabs so that they don't make electrical connection.

The last time I took my fuse panel apart I bent all of the tabs in slightly to make sure that they made contact.

well i jammed a wire in there at multiple angles to get a good voltage reading so im getting contact its like the bus bar is cracked or grounding. but i cleaned every single bus bar and pinout contact im thinking maybe there is a crack in one of those plastic layers that i cannot see and its grounding or something. car runs fine if i run jumper wire from pin 86 of the ignition relay to pin 86 of the dme relay
