Need to get '86 951 gone NOW

Hi guys,

I would keep this in the for-sale section, but my situation has changed and this car is basically going for scrap if I can't get it gone by Friday.

Here's the link to the ad:

1986 944T/951 and All my Porsche Parts

Basically, 944 turbo with 10k in brand new parts lying around. Bring a trailer and make me an offer. I have shelves and shelves of stuff.

I don't have the time to ship stuff to individuals. If you can show up in person and you want something specific, you've probably got it. My cell- 860-335-5467. My email- dgondyke@gmail.com.

It really, really sucks to have to write this, but I am in a real bind.

That does suck.

What's the matter with it and where are you located?

Mike, there's detailed info in the ad, but basically, started an '89 turbo S swap and have the engine half disassembled. Other than not having a running engine, the car is 100%. You can see by the parts list in the ad what I got for the damned thing.

I am in Hampton, Ct. Not the biggest area for Porsche enthusiasts. I hope there's someone local who can take her.

Don't scrap it! It's too beautiful to scrap! Try giving it a week or two instead of just 3 days!

Damn, 3 jobs?! How the hell do you do it? I know some people that struggle to keep up with just 2 jobs. You must not sleep at all!

If only you were in my area I would sell one of my cars and take that piece of beauty off your hands.

Thank you guys.

I am trying my hardest to work something out so I can keep the car in place for a few weeks to try and sell it. I really have no idea what is going to happen- Hope for the best, plan for the worst.

Saw your ad on craigslist the other day....would love to have this project in my garage! Not sure if I can make it happen in a short amount of time (just moved, and already have a watercooled porsche that needs attention).

I would love to buy some parts off of you buy can't buy the whole thing. I'm sure most of us need a few things and probably can buy 80% of your stuff if parted.

Hi guys,

I was silent for a little bit on this, but I have worked out a deal to keep the car where it is for a few more months to try and sell it. I still don't want to part it out- I don't have the time, and it would break my heart to tear it down to nothing.

I've had a few people ask about the car minus the aftermarket DBB turbo. I would sell the whole thing for $4000 minus the Turbo, wastegate, and EBC. That is the car, every part I have- doors, sunroofs, water pumps, heads, cam towers, new silicone everything, venturi delete, Lindsey steam vent, lindsey AOS breather relocation kit, ostrich chips.....the M44/52 engine and the '86 engine.....a good spare set of black rims from my old '84...nose panels, boxes of switches... I cannot even remember all this stuff. I started totalling up my receipts from LR just in the past two years and walked away from it after it shot past $3k. The Pelican Parts total I don't even want to think about.

I'm going to update the for sale ad/throw a new one up at lunchtime. Someone take this car home so it doesn't get parted!

Good news if you can keep it and potentially get it back running again!!

Let me know what shakes out or if you have any performance goodies for sale (in order to free up some cash and get the car back on the road!). I may be interested and I am local.

Billy- I will keep you in mind....but parting it out will make my head hurt. I had to take time off of work just to show the car to someone yesterday.

As far as the Fuchs wheels- the rear rims are very wide. I actually have 265s on them right now. These are much wider than normal 944 Fuchs wheels, correct? A 911 rear wheel?

The rear Fuchs from the '86 951 are 16x8 and are sought after by the 911 crowd, in particular for the 930.

Aw man, I know it's stupid before I ask, but if you want to cash-trade for a running 86 N/A, that's the only way I could take it off your hands. =( Sorry, that's a tough spot. And it's a *gorgeous* example.
