need an S2 crankshaft

Well after pulling the bearings I found that I cracked the crankshaft clean through. To make a long story short I need a new one. Anyone know where I can pick one up for an S2 and how much it'll cost me?

Also, do I need to pull the engine for this or can I do it from the bottom?

Sooo sorry for your loss.. How'd it all happen?
I read your threads but the causes were not clear to me.
Will this work?

I'm really not sure. I was driving long distances and didn't check the oil enough, but it was still registering on the dip stick, barely but it was, so it's hard to believe that that could actually snap the crank like this. What do you think? That looks like it might work, but unfortunately I'm also about to be broke. I found one from *********** used for $1k and a rebuilt/repro for $600. I want genuine Porsche because I'm afraid to go with a reproduction on something this important. I just can't believe this happened, nobody has ever heard of this

My humble suggestion is to sell your 944 S2 Cab roller and bank the cash for future use/emergency funds.. My young life of Porsche ownership has taught me that tinker/repair money funds in the bank are crucial to keep up our quarter-century old mounts.

If you've already suffered a near-catastrophe due to NOT checking/filling your oil every Sunday morning at 10am ( my smartphone reminds me every Sunday even when I forget) then perhaps the things you got going on in life right now that'd be better srved with a bank account flush with coin... ?
Absolutely, No Offense intended!!
Just want you to be successful in whatever you chose to do.
Perhaps owning another 944 in the future when cash is more flush is a better option?

Do you have another ride while you repair the Cab?

I'm going to keep it. Found out today that it wasn't the oil that caused it. I've had the car for about 6 years, my dad for 7, and checking the oil had never been an issue. It was holding oil fine for the past couple of years, checked periodically, it just all of a sudden dropped. I think it has something to do with whatever happened to the crank. We're still not sure what went wrong. The engine is only 3 years old, it blew before because the crank bolt came loose and stopped the oil pump. It had a complete overhaul. I'm thinking once I fix it I'll buy a cheap honda and use the Porsche as my toy. I was told that a 968 crank is is 2.5kg lighter, will it fit in the S2?

Hey that's what I was looking at! I was told the 944 and 968 cranks weigh the same, so I really don't know. Will a 968 crank really fit in an S2? And a new S2 crank is $4k, so I'm a little suspicious of this cheap one

I have a crank from an 89 turbo S that had 54,000 miles. I'll let it go cheap!
