Unhappy MSDS Exhaust Question....

I have an 86 n/a 944 and have MSDS headers with a Bursch exhaust on it. I put the headers on and had them welded. It sounded like I had an exhaust leak when the car was idling, so i had another mechanic just say screw it and weld the heads right to the reducing cone. They still sound like crap and am wondering if they just naturally sound like they have a leak at low rpms and also when you get on it with the windows open it sounds like a little leak. I bought the car 5 years ago with cracked heads and never heard it 100% healthy. Any info from anyone that has these heads would be great. thanks

If anyone knows of cheap headers that arent that expensive let me know. Also, has anyone ever found a place that sells the OEM headers?

Hi,

If you want the oem exhaust manifolds you can find some on ebay, people that install the headers solds the oem in good condition normally.
I know that exist and original Porsche stainless exhaust manifold.

If you already have the headers , use it.

About the leak problem, this method works for me.

With a meter of hose, put one side in your ear and the other side in the head and on every part of the header until you find the leak.

If is the header you will fix soon but if is the head ( I hope not ) you will need to spend money.
I hope that is a minor leak like exhaust gasket ,poor weld job or a crack.

regards
