clicking from the back of 87 951
Okay so I just picked up this 951 and it doesn't always but sometimes I get a very loud clicking almost popping noice from the back it happens mostly when I'm engine breaking but some times when taking off when its cold. Any ideas I checked the exhuast which seemed solid, so I'm thinking CV axles, what it the best way to check these? And am I on the right track?

+1 on your CV's. There easy to remove and inspect. If your in a hurry just repack. If you have time take apart, clean, inspect and refresh. Messy but not bad. If slightly pitted flip them over so you wear in a a new spot.

The CVs will do this when making a hard right or left turn. Is that when this is happening or is it when you are going straight ahead?
Actually, more like a knocking sound when in the turn and then goes away when you proceed straight again. Just my .02 cents.
