Does anyone use Amsoil?
The title pretty much says it all. Does anyone here use amsoil in their cars? Is it any good?

I use Amsoil 20/50 sync or their 15/50 race oil for my 951. Great oil with lots of zinc.

I use valvoline ZR1 20-50. Has a high zinc content. Then Lucas in the cam tower and half in the case. Quiets those lifters right down. Got over 200k on the engin and idles with oil pressure right on three bars

I have been using Amsoil synthetic transmission oil for a few years and I like it a lot but their synthetic engine oil isn't available here...

Greenwater, Smoking_944:
Excellent Stuff! Better Gas Mileage , Cooler Temps ~35'F and more power (2% Typical)...Smother Revs. Its in my Transmission "Nice and smooth shifting." Everything else is a compromise....(The stuff I wanted back in 1987 for my Turbo Buick but no one local to Long Island, NY to buy 6 Bottles from to try out....) Recommend 10w-30 or 5w-40 for our 4 cylinder Porsche's.... ![]() PM For more Info, Later....

I use their 20/50 in the motor, and their GL-4 in the trans in my 87 924S.
I switched from mobile 15/50 and oil pressure seems to maintain 3+ bar even in high temp environments I find myself in where mobile would only get about 2.5 bar. I equate this to a more stable (thermal) oil and I have had no issues otherwise. I like it. Gear oil is great too. |

I run their 20/50 in my NorthStar Caddy - when I get the engine back in the 944 I intend to run it in there also.
