Release value sound on NA
hello
i'm about to buy a 1988 Porsche 944 NA i was test driving it and as i stopped at an intersection, i heard something like a release value for a turbo sound like my friends Talon AWD Turbo same sound as the air being released from a turbo the seller says the car is nonturbo i checked the engine, didn't look to be a turbo, but wat do i know any ideas? is this normal? thanks |
Did you have the AC on?
an AC can make a similar noise when it is low on freon AFJuvat |
brake booster leak?
|
wats that mean
serious problem? thanks |
not too big of a deal. You didn't happen to stop off at Taco Bell on the test drive did ya' ;-)
I would bet it is a leak somewhere, not that that narrows down the search much. You should DEFINITELY take the car to a PORSCHE shop for a pre-purchase inspection before buying it though. If it was a turbo you can bet he wouldn't be denying it!! I do remember seeing an add somewhere for some gizmo that "simulates" a blow-off valve, pretty comical. Where are you located? I may be unloading a few Porsche's. |
i live in maryland
the seller is getting the car inspected the 25th at a local shop that specializes in porsches thanks |
