1990 944S2 CAB - Green Shielded Wire

I have a mystery. I accidently cut the shielded green wire that goes from the 14pin connector that is mounted in the engine compartment (on the firewall), right in front of and slightly right of the central electrics. I cut the wire right where it passes through the firewall and into the central electronics. Please don't ask how this happened I already know I made a huge mistake! Now here comes the mystery. I lifted up the central electrics to get to the wire harness and find the other end of the wire. For the life of me I cannot find the wire! It is like it just disappeared! I have checked every wire in the central electrics and can find only one larger diameter green wire. It goes fron the relay box into a completely seperate main harness which goes down into the drivers side passenger compartment. So can anyone guide me to where this wire comes from and how to find it. And once that is accomplished what to do next. I suspect splicing is not an option.

The green shielded wire connects the DME coil drive signal from the DME /ECU output pin #1 to pin #1 of the 14 pin connector to the ignition final stage coil driver pin #1.
The shield connects to pin#14 of the 14 pin connector.
I would strip back a inch or so of the green wire insulation. Separate the the shield from the center conductor and strip the the center conductor insulation. Solder a short jumper to reconnect the center conductors and separately solder a jumper to reconnect the shields . Using electrical tape insulate the center conductor from the shield solder connects you just made. With this wire cut you will not drive the coil driver and therefor there will be no spark.
Good luck

Kieth,

Thank you very much for the reply. You have confirmed what I thought I understood by looking at the wiring diagram. I still am having trouble actually locating the wire that leads to the female side of the 14 pin connector and (goes to/comes from?) the ignition final stage coil driver. Do you by any chance know the actual routing of this wire or where I can find it?

Thanks again, the fact that I can splice it if I can find it gives me some hope.

The ignition final stage driver looks like this and is mounted in the engine bay on the fender well sheet metal on the drivers side.
