radio removal tool

'87 944 na

what is the recommended tool to remove the radio?

i.e. will the local auto shop have one?

I bought a generic tool from AdvanceAuto. It works perfectly. Needs to be round pins with tapered and then rounded end as far as I recall.

If its a blaupunkt you bend two pieces of clothshanger into a u shape and slide them into the four holes then pull the radio out. It may take a few min to get it right, but it works well.

go to walmart they sell one for FORD radio remove works perfect

Didn't work for me...

My OEM radio was jammed in there so tight I had to push it out from the back side. Coat hanger was nearly strong enough.
