New brake pads no connection for brake wear sensor

i got a new set of mintex front brake pads from pelican and there is no where on the to plug my wear sensor.......what am i suppose to do with my sensor now....do i throw it away???? will the sensor light come up on my dash????

You can connect the two wires together on the sensor to keep the light off. I personally don't bother with the sensors, i broke a few installing them and gave up. Just check your pads every oil change.

i have a 85.5 there is only 1 wire

I'm with the "duck" on this one. I tried multiple times to replace the sensors and broke the cheap plastic on every one. On the strut is a white platic round plug under a black plastic cover. Take the plug out, take the two wires coming out of it, cut them about 2 or 3 inches from the plugs, strip the wire back and twist and solder the 2 wires together and that disables the light. If you go to Home Depot, the electrical department has a jar of liquid rubber tape and I paint the exposed wires with that to cover them. If you're like me, you keep an eye on the mileage and listen for possible wear indications of the pads (old school).

So, the sensors can be disabled, huh? PO replaced the brakes but didn't pay the extra $60 for the sensors. The light on the dash isn't THAT annoying to me, but it's nice to know I can kill it. Maybe I'll do that this weekend while I've got the tires off to bleed the brakes/clutch.

If you are going to run without the sensors, make sure to keep an eye on the pad thickness, if you wait to hear brake noise you are already damaging the rotors....Porsche pads don't have the metal screech tabs that come on pads without wear sensors.
