Two issues

First, I bled my clutch last weekend because the clutch is randomly sucking to the floor. After bleed, still same problem. Going to try to bleed it again, but if not better, that means the slave is bad, right?

Second, I've always had a "fuel smell" in my car, and I'm going to redo the fuel lines and what not to try to alleviate that. However, lately I've been smelling like the car is running really rich. What causes this, and how do I go about diagnosis/repair?

Thanks.

How long did you bleed it for? Sometimes it takes a long time. How did you bleed it? Check for brake fluid squirting into the bell housing.

With a pressure bleeder. Old fluid was dirty. Bled it until saw nothing but clean new fluid that came out in a steady stream...and then a little bit longer.

If the master and slave are original I would start looking there.

So, you'd recommend I replace both?

If one need to be replace the general practice among 944s owner is that they replace both at the same time. But be aware that changing the master cylinder (carpet cylinder) is a PITA & require lot more work than the slave.:D

Sounds fun. Thanks, Ernie.
