Porsche Crest 87 Porsche 944 n/a 3.5 in exhaust sound

Hi, if anyone is interested in hearing what an OBX catback stainless exhaust would sound like here is a link to the sounds I posted on soundcloud. I know there is lots of different exhausts out there but maybe you are looking to find one that is not so much like a fart can like a honda civic so this might help you out.

btw the exhaust is low restriction and 3.5 inch opening so its loud and deep, this was shot from inside the car, from out side its much louder. and IMO it looks really nice and will last a long time, being stainless steel. Also at only 250$ its much cheaper than any lindsey or BB cat back.

I am in no way affiliated with any website I post, I just am a happy customer

Result: less power, more noise, really doesn't make sense on an na...it's your car.

I think it's actually 2.5" if you look on that website.
3.5" would be in fact too big for a n/a and will result in shifting the torque curve to higher rpm and even loss of power as mentioned.
2.5" is actually perfect for a n/a ,a definite upgrade from the stock 2.25" and has been proven to result in a slight power increase especially in combination with other upgrades.

Less power is guaranteed, on a 2.5L 4-cyl na you need as much exhaust scavenging as possible, which means a small exhaust to preserve the best feature of the engine, low-end torque.

Not trying to dismiss your efforts, it looks cool and for not a lot of money, just stating the facts. GL

it's a 2.5" the website even says so.

only the tailpipe is 3"

it's stainless..which is good.

but it's obx. obx is chinese made. so hit or miss on whether the metal is welded correctly.

i've seen some good obx products and some laughable obx products. it's all hit or miss.

I think it's considered 3 inch but I used a tape measure and the muffler tip is 3.5 inches in diameter but the whole piping is still 2.5 from the Cat so it's really just a muffler replacement, and with other mods done to my car I could feel the power increase the first time I drove it after I installed it

It does sound nice, 2.5" is a lot better for the NA vice 3" or 3.5" (sheesh) .... for the price I'd try it if I needed to replace my stock exhaust. I really do like the OEM exhaust and muffler.
