rear turn signal problem

Right rear turn signal works fine, until headlights turned on.. then it goes dimmer and flashes the side maker light, tail light and left back up light (all dim).
Gee, this one sounds like real fun to me?
Ground? .. why the flash across to left back up?
Thanks!

i found a problem at the light switch, the hot wire that supplies voltage to the fog lights and turn signals was bad,so i jumped out the wires to a good power source and things work well now..it sounds like voltage is looking for a good ground, path of least resistance, thats giving you your funny light problem???
check the switch first.

Agree - it sounds like your light switch.

Though you probably should clean your grounds too.

Sounds fair nuff.. now messing with the switch may be easier said than done. for me at least.
have rebuilt a couple mg's.. they are simple machines. this one has multi bells and whisltes when compared.
clean grounds.. check switch.
any clues about the 'goes nowhere' pink wire (located by right rear bulb unit)??

Euro fog lights. The "extra" socket on the rear tail lights is for a high wattage bulb. These are used at the same time as the fog lights for rear illumination/warning.

If you can get extra bases many use the same wattage bulbs as the regular tail lights and a jumper to fill these. The reflector and lens on this section is different than the driving tail light too. Designed to focus the light directly behind.

There should be a "going nowhere" wire on the other side too.

I rigged mine as a second tailight. I just tied it into the existing one.
